
The Illustrious Potentate is responsible for the government of
the Temple and has complete charge of the Shrine Clubs, Units and
Nobility.
Act
as chairman of the Finance and Investment Committees. Must prepare
the budget for the following year and submit it to the Temple for
approval at the Annual Meeting. Chairman of the Shoblom, Baldwin,
Tysdale and Naja Children's Trusts. Coordinate periodic investment
briefings with A G. Edwards and Norwest Trust and insure that investment
decisions are transmitted to them. Take care of visiting Nobility,
see to their accommodations and hospitality, with the assistance
of the Ambassadors. Assist the Hospital Division Chairman and attend
Hospital Division Board meetings. Coordinate with circus chairman
and contracts for Shrine Circuses for the next calendar year. Perform
other duties as may be requested by the Potentate. If the office
of Potentate becomes vacant for any reason, the Chief Rabban shall
act as Potentate until a special election is held and the office
is thereby filled.

Vice Chairman of the Budget and Finance committees. In charge
of Shrine club Coordination. Assist and advise the Hospital Division
Chairman and attend all Hospital Division meetings. Assist the
Chief Rabban. In the absence of the Potentate and Chief Rabban,
to preside. Perform other duties as may be requested by the Potentate.

Chairman of Long Range Planning Committee. In charge of membership.
Take charge of Novices at Ceremonials, make sure they are in the
right place at the right time. Assist the Assistant Rabban. Perform
other duties as may be requested by the Potentate.

Responsible
for fraternal relations, York & Scottish Rites, Blue
Lodge, Demolay, Jobs Daughters. Chairman of the Insurance Committee,
Temple Success & Trends, Assist the High Priest and Prophet.
Perform other duties as may be requested by the Potentate.

Fully coordinate all Temple Ceremonials. Serve as parliamentarian
advisor to the Potentate. Assist the Oriental Guide. Perform other
duties as may be requested by the Potentate.

In charge of all pilgrimages. Assist the High Priest and Prophet
to see that Novices are properly escorted in Ceremonial Parades.
Assist the First Ceremonial Master. Perform other duties as may
be requested by the Potentate.

Chairman of the Director's Staff. In complete charge of the Second
Section of all Temple Ceremonials. Perform other duties as may
be requested by the Potentate.

In charge of all Temple Parades and lines of parades, providing
the proper signs for dignitary vehicles, Potentate, MSA Officers,
etc. Coordinate with Provost Unit and local authorities for parade
routes, permits and security. Assist and advise chairman of public
relations and speakers bureau committees. Assist the Second Ceremonial
Master. Perform other duties as may be requested by the Potentate.

Responsible for setting up stated meetings, help organize and
set up monthly divan meetings. See that proper guards are placed
for all closed meetings, including Ceremonials. Assist the Marshal.
Perform other duties as may be requested by the Potentate.

Assist the Captain of the Guard in securing the Temple from intrusion.
In charge of equipment and uniforms. Chairman of entertainment
and refreshment committees and equipping, supplying and manning
hospitality rooms. Perform other duties as may be requested by
the Potentate.

Report directly to the Potentate. Oversee and coordinate details
of all Temple functions and events except fund raising projects.
Work closely with divan members. Perform other duties as may be
requested by the Potentate.

Each member of the Divan is assigned to Units to assure good communication
between the working units of the Temple and the leadership. Units
are requested to place their assigned divan member on their mailing
list so he will be aware of their meetings and social events. A
list of the Unit assignments for each divan member will be found
in the Temple Directory each year.
