Although women are not eligible to join Shriners International, their support and generosity plays a large part in the success of our organization. In addition, there are several organizations for women that support our fraternity and are committed to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Daughters of the Nile is a fraternal organization for women who are related to a Shriner, Master Mason, or Daughter of the Nile. The organization supports Shriners Hospitals for Children, and donates more than $1,000,000 each year to the hospital network. In addition, members volunteer their time at Shriners Hospitals, sew clothing and quilts, and provide toys, book, and other items for hospital patients. ISMAH No. 119 is headquartered in Deadwood.
The Order of the Eastern Star is the world’s largest fraternal organization for both men and women. The organization supports a variety of charitable causes, including Shriners Hospitals for Children. There are 49 local chapters in South Dakota.
